Well, I finally "finished" my 3D Settlers game a few weeks back, and we've taken it out for a spin or two. There are a couple of details to go - our pirate/robber disappeared, so we need to make a new one, and we need the road/army bonus markers. But the pieces are done for the basic game and almost done for the 5-6 player expansion. Ellen and I played today, so I'll try to post a few pictures.
We play with wooden resource markers, which changes the game just a bit (unless you use a hidden draw) when the robber is moved. It seems to work pretty well, though.
